Future Readiness Self-Evaluation Tool

This diagnostic tool is designed to help organizations assess their preparedness for the future. By answering these questions, you’ll gain insights into your current capabilities, identify gaps, and uncover opportunities to become more future-ready. Use the results to spark internal discussions and inform strategic initiatives.


Instructions

For each question, rate your organization on a scale from 1 to 5, where:

  • 1 = Not at all true
  • 2 = Rarely true
  • 3 = Sometimes true
  • 4 = Often true
  • 5 = Completely true

Strategic Foresight

  1. How often does your organization engage in scenario planning to anticipate future trends and disruptions?
  2. Do you have a process for identifying weak signals and emerging trends that could impact your industry?
  3. To what extent is your long-term strategy adaptable to unexpected changes in the market or technology?

Innovation and Agility

  1. How well does your organization balance immediate priorities with investing in innovation for the future?
  2. Do you foster a culture that encourages experimentation and learning from failure?
  3. How quickly can your organization pivot in response to external changes, such as economic shifts or new competitors?

Technology and Digital Transformation

  1. Is your organization leveraging emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and automation to remain competitive?
  2. Do you have a clear digital transformation strategy that aligns with your overall goals?
  3. How prepared are your teams and systems to integrate with new technology ecosystems?

Leadership and Culture

  1. Do your leaders prioritize future thinking and inspire teams to envision long-term possibilities?
  2. Is your organizational culture open to change, or does it resist it?
  3. How well are cross-functional teams equipped to collaborate on future-focused initiatives?

Customer and Market Insights

  1. How frequently do you gather insights about evolving customer needs and expectations?
  2. Do you actively monitor disruptions and shifts in your industry, beyond your immediate competitors?
  3. How well does your organization identify and act on new opportunities in untapped or emerging markets?

Scoring

  • Add up your total score from all 15 questions.
  • Maximum score: 75

Evaluation

  • 1–30: Low Future Readiness – Significant gaps in preparedness; consider focusing on strategic foresight and agility.
  • 31–50: Moderate Future Readiness – Some strengths but room for improvement, especially in innovation and adaptability.
  • 51–75: High Future Readiness – Well-prepared for the future, but ensure continuous monitoring and refinement.
